Volunteer with Lin’s Linens, Inc.
In 2010, as Lin’s Linens Inc. was embarking on its mission to create healing and sanctuary spaces for women in treatment for cancer, Liz (founder and president) knew that if this effort was to come to fruition, she would need a cadre of volunteers to not only get the ball rolling, but keep in motion. The needs of women in treatment for cancer are a call to all who can give some time to this cause. Lin’s Linens continues to grow and expand throughout New Jersey, and is seeking volunteers to grow with us.
Who Can Volunteer?
Anyone! If you are willing to lend a hand or contribute specific skills, Lin’s Linens needs you. We have volunteer needs in all areas of our organization, for teenagers (15 and older) or adults, for contractors and design professionals. Lin’s Linens officers, directors, and designers can use your help in the following areas:
Operations: Ideal for teens seeking service hours for high school or religious organizations. Parent/Guardian permission and release required. Help us catalog donations, organize our product inventory, pack and ship products.
Donations and Fund Raising: Help us identify and communicate with potential sources for products and/or services needed for the Lin’s Linens, Inc. program.
Designer’s Assistant: Help designers to transport and handle items for on site work with a Program Sister; set up room contents, painting, lifting, sanding, and installation of window treatments. Greatly needed are licensed and skilled individuals with electrical, plumbing, painting, carpet installation or general contracting skills.
Public Relations and Communications: Help us promote our mission and events; distribute our publications and letters; follow-up on communications.
